‘Health Awareness Week 2018’ at E.N.S.
Looking back on last week’s action-packed Health Awareness Week at ENS, the school community is of the opinion that all our students from Infants to Seniors have benefited from an increased awareness about how to live a healthy lifestyle and have lots of fun at the same time. There was an atmosphere of excitement and enjoyment all around the school throughout the week.
The variety of activities ranged from Yoga with Eimear (Mc Carthy), Jiu Jitsu with John (Eustace), Cycling with Róisín (Garvey), Healthy Cooking with Rachel, to Irish Dancing and Singing on Cultural Day (Thursday). The Annual School Sports and Fun Day on Friday was the culmination of Health Awareness week. Everyone, in turn, got an opportunity to participate in a range of sporting and fun activities with their classmates – Sprints, Obstacle races, Walking and Cycling groups, Bouncy Castles, Tennis coaching, Face painting etc.
This special week on the school calendar was launched on Monday morning last in the School by ‘Clareman of the year’ John Burke, who has recently returned from climbing Mount Everest. He kindly agreed to talk to the students about his mountain adventures. He gave an inspirational speech and presentation in the School Hall. Thank you, John.
Thanks to the many tutors, volunteers, Parents Association supporters, teachers and staff who helped to make Health Week possible. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
