Pedestrian Friendly Measures for O’Connell Street – Survey
Clare County Council is currently considering options around the pedestrianisation of O’Connell Street in Ennis and is asking the public to have their say.
Ahead of drawing up plans for possible pedestrianisation measures, Ennis Municipal District of the Council has provided an online survey asking residents, businesses and visitors to the county town for their feedback on full or partial pedestrianisation. Printed versions of the survey will also be available.
O’Connell Street is currently closed to all vehicles until February 16, 2026, allowing the public to familiarise themselves of the new streetscape following the completion of the multimillion-euro Public Realm work.
During this period, Clare County Council invites the public, the business community, and visitors to Ennis to share their views on future access, traffic flow, and pedestrianisation of O’Connell Street through the online survey.
The online survey is now live on the Clare County Council website (clarecoco.ie: Have Your Say) Potential pedestrian friendly measures for O’Connell Street, Ennis | Clare County Council Community Engagement and will remain live until January 4, 2026, with physical copies of the survey available at council buildings including libraries.
We would be obliged if you could assist us in ensuring this survey reaches as many residents, businesses and members of the public as possible.
