Recent Events and Reports:
Halloween Tuck Shop:
● The event at halloween went well and made ~€410 in profit
● A proposal for future events was made to simplify the pricing and/or improve the
pricing signage for volunteers. This would streamline calculating the total for each
purchase. Ideas included:
○ Grouping items of similar price together
○ More pricing signage across the tuckshop tables.
● Halloween costume donations sold well but takings couldn’t be split out from the
overall profit. There were some costumes remaining and these are to be donated
○ Preschool/Infant Classes if the teachers have a use for them
○ Local charity shops for the remainder
○ Decision to be made in the next academic year on doing this again. It has
worked well in the past where the costumes were posted on Social Media and
sold in advance with a smaller number remaining to be sold at the quiz: it
would be ideal if a volunteer was available whose schedule allows for this.
Christmas Disco and Tuck Shop:
● Sign-up Sheet was circulated among those present. Remaining slots to be filled from
the WhatsApp volunteer group
● Cleanup must be completed that evening as halla is needed for the following day
● DJ is organised
● Ideas for Tuck Shop were discussed (in addition to the usual sweets/drinks). Decision
made to review the offers at Mangans closer to the event (Jenny/Lorna). Some of the
ideas discussed included:
○ Candyfloss
○ Bags of jellys
○ Jelly trays
○ Glowsticks
● Split the Pot:
○ Pricing as for similar years €2 per entry or 3 for €5.
○ Apply for permit (LP1 form at Garda station – Claire)
● Other actions:
○ Items needed for tuckshop other than food/drink (Nileptha):
■ Lights
■ Extension leads
○ RaffleBook inventory needs to be checked (extra can be bought at Jimmys)
Christmas Concerts 2025:
● Sign-up Sheet was circulated among those present. Additional volunteers can be
recruited from WhatsApp group if necessary
● Raffle Books inventory needs to be checked (should be done before disco -see above)
● Milk to be bought that week for tea/coffee
Events for 2025/2026:
Flag Day
● Saturday 14th February is confirmed as the date and permit is ready
● Permit should be sought before June 2026 for the 2027 Flag day to allow the choice of
dates in February.
● Slogan Idea for 2026 Flag Day “Show Your Love for ENS”
● Noted that the money collected is to be used by ENS
● Options for the use of the money were discussed. STEM focused items are in need at
the school. Closer to the event there should be a survey of parents and teachers on
available options.
Bingo
● Provisional Date: Friday 24th April
● Callers to be PA or parent volunteers
● Note: ensure the announcement of prize donors
