Juniors are Dino-Mite

This month junior infants have been learning about dinosaurs. Our Aistear activities have been based around the theme of dinosaurs. Our activities included a dinosaur small world, working like palaeontologists to excavate dinosaur bones, building dinosaurs from Lego and blocks, matching dinosaurs and eggs, making a giant dinosaur floor puzzle, and making 2D shape dinosaurs. We learned the dinosaur song and a finger rhyme called five little dinosaurs-ask us to say them for you at home, we’re really good at them! We made paper plate dinosaurs, stegosauruses with our names on them, handasauruses and dinosaur fossils using clay. We used dinosaurs to make AB patterns, we made a graph of our favourite dinosaurs, and we sorted dinosaurs into sets by colour, dinosaur type, dinosaurs that walk on two feet, dinosaurs that walk on four feet, meat eating dinosaurs and plant eating dinosaurs-we are dinosaur experts. We listened to the stories of the Hideasaurus and Harry and the Dinosaurs.
