A visit from ecologist Robin Barry – Ecosystems and Biodiversity

Robin Barry, an ecologist, visited our 3rd Classes to teach us all about the amazing ecosystems in our local environment here in Co. Clare. We learned how insects, birds, plants, soil, and even tiny organisms all work together to keep nature healthy. Robin showed us how to spot different insects and listen for local birds. His favourite topic was bees! He taught us about beehives, how bees make honey, and why they are so important for pollination. Without bees carrying pollen from flower to flower, many plants wouldn’t be able to grow. We really enjoyed learning from Robin and discovering how we can help protect the nature around us.
