Sixth Class Climate Change Debates
Over the past few weeks, all Sixth Class pupils have been actively involved in preparing for a series of debates focused on key climate change issues. Every pupil took part, working in teams of four to propose or oppose a range of motions linked to climate action and sustainability.
The debates were held in front of all three Sixth Classes and members of staff. Each pupil delivered their own speech and received feedback from the judges. The debates allowed the pupils to develop their debating skills, oral presentation skills and their confidence.
The standard of debating and delivery throughout was outstanding. Pupils demonstrated excellent preparation, critical thinking and a strong understanding of complex climate issues. Congratulations to all involved in this fantastic initiative — we are incredibly proud of our Sixth Class pupils.
These debates were held in conjunction with our participation in the PROTET Erasmus+ Project, which aims to deepen pupils’ understanding of climate change and empower them to engage thoughtfully with global environmental challenges.
