Keith Haring

Keith Haring

Keith Haring was a famous artist who loved to draw big, bold pictures that were full of energy. He was born in 1958 in America and loved art from the time he was a child. He carried a sketchbook everywhere and drew every day.

When Keith grew up, he moved to New York City. He started drawing simple, bright pictures on the walls of the underground trains. People loved his drawings because they were easy to understand and full of movement. His artwork often showed dancing people, barking dogs, hearts, and patterns that looked like they were jumping off the page.

Keith wanted everyone to enjoy art—not just people in museums. He painted on buildings, footpaths, and huge walls so that anybody walking by could see his work. He also used his art to spread messages about kindness, helping others, and making the world a better place.

Keith Haring became famous all around the world. Even though he died young, his art is still loved today because it is fun, colourful, and full of life. His pictures remind us that art can be for everyone.

“A School Full of Heart”

Our Keith Haring–influenced artwork represents school life as a place full of movement, energy, and care.

The moving figures show how school is always busy and active. Just like the figures jumping, running, and dancing, children in school are always learning, playing, and growing. The different bright colors represent the many different students in our school. Everyone is unique, but all belong together in the same space.

The hearts are a symbol of kindness, friendship, and care. They show that school is not just about learning subjects, but also about looking after one another, sharing joy, and feeling safe and valued. The figures holding or reaching for hearts show how students give and receive kindness every day—from helping a friend to working together in class.

The bold lines and simple shapes, inspired by Keith Haring, help show these ideas clearly and happily. Overall, this artwork shows that school life is active, welcoming, and full of heart, where everyone moves forward together as a community.
