Ennis National School has been working closely with the Clare Education Centre and Leading Psychologist Dr Maureen Griffin to establish an internet and device safety initiative called Agree to Agree. We are delighted to announce that the Agree to Agree initiative is being launched this week. This initiative is aimed at providing help and assistance to pupils, parents and staff in relation to internet safety and responsible use of internet enabled devices.
Each family will receive the agreement booklet this week, this is also attached as a pdf for your convenience. The back page forms the actual agreement. Here the focus areas for year 1 are highlighted these include the minimum age for sole device ownership and promotion of good sleep habits. We would like you to fill in the back page and send the document back to the school to be signed by the class teacher, the agreement can then be returned to you and kept at home and perhaps placed in a prominent place to remind everyone about what has been agreed.
There are a number of sections in the agreement and these will form the basis of the focal points for year 2 and year 3 of this initiative.
An information evening for parents is taking place in the school staff room on Wednesday 15th of October 2025, this will begin at 7:00pm and will finish at 8:00pm. Mr Daire Dwyer will be on hand to talk through the agreement and answer any queries that you may have.
