Board of Management Meeting April 2012

The most recent meeting of the Board of Management took place on 23^rd April. Among the items discussed at this meeting were the following:

Calendar for 2012/2013 school year was ratified. The new school year will begin on Wednesday, August 29^th.
The division of classes for the 2012/2013 school year was ratified. This decision will be communicated to parents once we have a firm indication of the numbers in classes for September.
The following school policies were ratified: Attendance, Administration of Mediation, School Ethos, Equality of Access, Homework, Anti-Harassment, Pastoral Care, Work Experience.
Arrangements were made to mark the beginning of work on the school building project. A commemorative booklet has been prepared and will be forwarded to all families.
The Board of Management expressed its thanks to Clare Crusaders for the Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy services it provides to the school. A fundraiser will be run to support the Clare Crusaders at a later date.
The new Designated Liaison Person for Child Protection is Ann McMahon.

The most recent Board of Management meeting was held on 13 February 2012. Among the items discussed were the following:

School finances and setting up arrangements for administration of finances for the school building project
School enrolments for the coming school year
School Building Project including the progress of tenders, appointment of a Clerk of Works, attendance at a Department of Education and Skills briefing session.
Water leak (decided that it would cost too more to resolve the problem that to remediate it)
Review of Child Protection Policy ratified in line with latest regulations
Guidelines for the publication of pupil work and photographs on the school website/internet
Board of Management training
School organisational policies to be discussed and ratified at the next meeting which will be held on 12 March 2012.
