The Board of Management, Parents Association and community of Ennis National School eagerly anticipate the start of construction of the new school at Ashline this Autumn.  The project is currently at the Contractor selection stage. The successful Contractor is expected to be appointed before the school breaks for the Summer Holidays.

The long- awaited school is the first of its design in Ireland and will be used by the Department of Education and Science as a model for future large schools.  In addition to thirty two classrooms, the building will include rooms for our Reading Class, Special Education Teachers and Library. The building will have an energy rating and a level of disability access which is ahead of current regulations.   Facilities for sport will include a full-size sports hall with dressing rooms and a playing pitch.

The new school building will facilitate all the activities currently available to pupils. While the building may be new, it is the School Community intention that the traditions of Ennis National School will continue long into the future.  This will ensure that the School will continue to provide a very high standard of education to pupils in a pleasant, safe and happy environment imbued with Catholic ethos.  The school building will be new but we will continue to build on the spirit of community and sense of belonging currently flourishing among pupils and staff.
